To My Friend, Rosie

May 4, 2008 No Comments

Rosie, old girl, you’re a great old pup
And when your time with us is up
I hope that there’s a place for you
With Daisy, and maybe others you knew
A place where you can romp and play
Or curl up and snooze the hours away
Somewhere way off in outer space
And though the young one takes your place
In our minds and hearts your memory won’t fade
A happier world your life has made
I’ve had many dogs in my life, this is true
But none that I cherished more than you
I’d have taken you home in a heart beat you know
If they had decided to let you go
But you had a good home and many friends
I hope that it’s peaceful when your life ends
It’s the best that any of us can hope for
I’ll miss you, old buddy, I can say no more.
GOOD BYE, GOOD DOG
